Drone Aviation Training & FAA Part 107 Preparation

Structured drone education for teenagers, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations: introductory flight instruction, aviation safety, STEM engagement, and FAA Part 107 preparation for eligible participants.

Teenagers learning to fly a drone with an instructor on a field

Program overview

From first flight to certification pathway

Our drone aviation program introduces students to the science, safety, and career possibilities of unmanned aviation through hands-on flight and classroom learning. Older participants who meet FAA eligibility requirements can continue into structured preparation for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot knowledge test.

  • Introductory drone flight instruction with instructor supervision
  • Aviation safety, airspace basics, and responsible operation
  • STEM engagement: physics of flight, mapping, photography, and data
  • Career exploration in aviation, inspection, agriculture, media, and public safety
  • FAA Part 107 knowledge-test preparation for eligible participants (16+)

What families and partners should know

  • All flights are instructor-supervised and follow FAA recreational or Part 107 rules as applicable
  • Participants under 18 require parent or guardian consent
  • Part 107 certification requires participants to be at least 16, pass the FAA knowledge test, and complete TSA vetting; Bold Ventures Group prepares participants but does not administer the exam or issue certificates
  • Equipment can be provided by the program or by the host organization

Expected benefits

  • Hands-on STEM learning that students remember
  • Exposure to high-demand career pathways
  • Confidence, teamwork, and responsibility
  • A documented pathway toward FAA certification for eligible participants

We do not guarantee exam outcomes or employment results.
